Shopping
This region offers an array of shopping options with antiques and boutique stores at the fore. From the stunning seaside town of Flinders just down the road where you’ll find artisan homewares, premium alpaca apparel, galleries and antiques to the bustling townships of Sorrento and Mornington and so many in between.
Flinders
Flinders is one of the Mornington Peninsula’s most charming villages, with a historic streetscape shaded by broad verandahs, excellent eateries, gourmet produce stores, boutique shops, galleries, antique outlets, a famous golf course and coastal walks. Here you can enjoy stunning alpaca garments at Little Alpaca, browse local art galleries and purchase unique and locally made homewares from Red Hill Kitchen.
Sorrento
Sorrento is a beautiful and historic village that has retained much of its heritage in the form of the historic limestone buildings that line the main street. The village offers shopping that is stylish and sophisticated, with more than 60 retail outlets including boutiques, interior design stores, galleries and antique outlets. Naturally, the cafes, restaurants, local produce stores and designer ice cream are superb.
Tyabb
This unassuming little town is a mecca for antiques on the Mornington Peninsula. Get lost in the enormity of the Tyabb Packing House, wander the Vintage Shed down the road (where many of the costumes for Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries were sourced) or visit some of the tiny stores that line the main street. Either way, you’re bound to find a hidden treasure.
Mornington
There always seems to be something happening in this town with its galleries, cafes and restaurants, popular racecourse, markets and food and wine events. The Main Street Wednesday market is Victoria’s longest-running midweek regional market. The history of Mornington can be explored on a heritage walk through the town and you can travel on the historic Mornington Railway steam train on most Sundays.
